Edward J. Blum, PT, DPT, BA, CWT
"Ed", senior and managing partner, received a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Lehman College in January of 1976. He went on to earn his Certificate of Physical Therapy in August of 1980 from Hunter College School of Health Sciences. While at Hunter, Ed was elected Junior Class Vice-President and Senior Class President. His dedication and devotion to his future profession was apparent being presented with the Award for Excellence in Physical Therapy upon graduation. Dr. Blum furthered his education pursuing his Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the EIM Institute of Health Sciences in Louisville, Kentucky.
Ed also holds a certification in weight training from IWA. Dr. Blum has been the co-host of the radio talk show "The Physical Therapy Show." An avid baseball player in the past, Dr. Blum has a special interest in treating throwing athletes. In his free time, Ed enjoys playing softball, tennis, and golf.
Rocco DeNobile, MPT, OCS, CMT
Rocco attained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from SUNY Purchase College in 2001. He went on to earn his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy at Hunter College School of Health Sciences in 2003. Mr. DeNobile is a certified manual physical therapist, a certified clinical instructor of physical therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association, and an orthopedic clinical specialist. Rocco has been a long time member of the Boy Scouts of America attaining its highest level of achievement as Eagle Scout. In his leisure time Rocco enjoys sailing as a member of the Hyannis Sailing Club, in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Rocco has a love of music and is an avid musician playing the drums, guitar, and bass guitar as well as recording music.
Isaac Maldonado, MPT, CWT
Isaac earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from Mercy College in 2005. He went on to earn his Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Mercy College in 2007. Isaac is a certified weight trainer through the International Weightlifting Association (IWA), and a certified trainer through ISSA.
In his free time, Isaac enjoys mixed martial arts training and weight and strength training. Isaac in a regular participant in multiple basketball leagues. He is also a participant in weekend lectures and labs for physical therapy students.
Akim W. Jones, PT, DPT, ATC, CSCS
Dr. Akim Jones earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science & Athletic Training from the College of Mt. St. Vincent, a Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Hunter College and a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University.
Dr. Jones has been practicing physical therapy for over 10 years, specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine. In addition to physical medicine, Dr. Jones has taken an interest in nutrition and wellness. It is Dr. Jones' belief that for patients to truly benefit from the effects of physical therapy, proper nutritional supplementation and lifestyle education have to be implemented.
